Registering your son/daughter on Family ID is now a requirement for all sports seasons as well as any out of season conditioning or team activities.  If your student intends to participate in any out-of-season conditioning or team activities prior to their official season’s start, be sure to have the Family ID registration process completed, which includes uploading a valid physical.  Students need to be registered in Family ID one week before the season begins in order to try out. 

Start Dates for Sports 2025-2026

Fall Sports - August 13, 2025

Winter Sports - November 15, 2025

Spring Sports - March 1, 2026

The Athletic Boosters are parents and/or friends who join together to support the student athlete and support and promote the athletic programs at Westminster High. It is not necessary to be a parent of an athlete. If you have an interest in the welfare of student athletes or athletic programs at the high school, this organization is for you!

Booster parents make a commitment to donating their time on behalf of student athletics. Booster members can volunteer to direct the snack bar, volunteer to work in the snack bar or volunteer to help with a fund-raising project. We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7 p.m. in Room B203 (across from the main office). We invite and encourage everyone to join us!

Family ID Registration:

Athletic Physicals:

Physicals cover athletes for a 13-month period and current valid physicals within that date range can be uploaded directly into the Family ID site.  Athletes should pay close attention to the 13-month expiration date and be sure that your physical will not expire before the season ends.  If you’ve previously registered with Family ID, we recommend you log in to verify your physical’s date.  New physical forms are in effect for the 2022-2023 school year.  As you get your physical renewed, please use the new form available Athletics - Carroll County Public School District (carrollk12.org).

Free NCAA webinar information

 The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has specific guidelines for high school student athletes who wish to be eligible to compete in college athletics.  There are five basic criteria which include:
1. Graduation from high school with 2 foreign/world language credits earned during grades 9 through 12
2. Graduation from high school with mathematics credits through Algebra II/Data Analysis
3. Minimum core grade point average
4. Minimum ACT or SAT test score
5. Completion of 16 core courses

Planning for college and college athletics should begin in grade 9 in order to complete the core courses.  Students should register with the NCAA clearinghouse by the end of their junior year.  See Mr. Byrnes in the School Counseling department for information concerning the specifics of the above criteria.
